Lopen Karma graces the 40th Anniversary of the Association of Friends of Bhutan and holds other meetings in Denmark

On his maiden journey to Denmark, Lopen Karma was invited to speak during the 40th Anniversary of the Danish Association of Friends of Bhutan. Meeting some 60 friends of Bhutan, he talked about the cultural and environmental heritage of Bhutan passed down through Bhutan’s pre-Buddhist and Buddhist spiritual traditions. “These nature-oriented belief systems through which Bhutan maintained a harmonious relationship with the natural world and the mind-centred Buddhist through which we sought inner wellbeing are as important today as they were in the past. Today, these timeless values must be reappropriated and reformulated to be made beneficial not only to contemporary Bhutanese but to the rest of the world,” he shared.

Lopen Karma also met with Chritian Stadil, a public figure and financial tycoon and also the Honorary Council of Bhutan in Denmark. He also had a session on Bhutan’s journey, mindfulness and human progress for the students of Niels Brock International Gymnasium. His sojourn was facilitated by Lars Jepsen and Susanne Nielsen, stalwart supporters of Loden in Denmark, his cousin Thinley Wangchuk and friends Anne Buchardi and Bjorn Henriksen.
