Welcome to your new home, my old friends! What little virtue I possess or meaning I found in life is largely thanks to you – dharmakaya in print. After a decade of separation, I am overjoyed to be reunited with you. May you make many new friends and spread such joy from this new home, Bodhitse library, which is open to public (although its main programmes remain suspended for now due to Thimphu Thromde‘s tardy works.)
For helping a thousand ‘friends’ cross numerous seas and cities, my gratitude goes to Namgyel Wangchuk, Decheñ Rabgyal, Lopen Karma Wangchuk in Kolkata, Rinchen Lhazom, Dorji Tashi and Tshewang Dorji.

C’est un trou de verdure, où chante une rivière
Accrochant follement aux herbes des haillons
D’argent; où le soleil, de la montagne fière,
Luit: c’est un petit pays qui mousse de rayons.
A towering figure, eyes piercing, camera held in hand
There you stood, my friend, in Ajaney’s hidden land.
Lost some weight? I teased. Not from the miles we hiked.
But running out of rations on the trail Anne liked.
From Tiger’s Nest to Lhuntse’s jagged crest,
From Laya’s frozen heights to Gelephu’s warm plain
We crossed mountains and valleys with zest,
Bent on helping those who linger in vain.
From Ashok’s avacados to Zamin’s menstrual pads
From Chilli chocolate to Chilli Quest tech
For many seeker’s mind and the big dreams they had,
You are the guiding star in their life’s unfolding trek.
We will go further, Gerard, in steps and in life
With your spirit renewed and untangled mind
As scholars and entrepreneurs, with gratitude so rife,
Ask us in multitude to help them become our kind.
Loden stands firm as a legacy of your grace,
This mountainous land of herbs as your spiritual home
In this life, the next one, and every time and space,

When the songs of memorials soar over Marc Sur Mer,
